History of ultrasonic flow meter

Ultrasonic flowmeter has a long history of development,and ultrasonic water flow meter are applied to measure liquid or air for decades.

In 1928, The first ultrasonic flow meter produced all around the world

In 1955, Ultrasonic flowmeter was applied to measure aviation oil and liquid measurement flowmeter composed of  two pairs of transducers based on acoustic circulation method first time .

In 1958, Appears transit-time and beam offset ultrasonic measuring principle,and invented refraction probe / transducers and can further eliminate the phase distortion caused by the mixed reverberation of  the pipe wall and provide theoretical foundation for clamp-on type liquid flowmeter,besides, Doppler ultrasonic flowmeter comes out and more and more liquid measurement devices are used for industrial fluids measurement.

In the 1970, ultrasonic flowmeters are constantly improved like low accuracy,slow response, poor stability and other issures, appearance and application of high-performance phase-locked technology, the practical ultrasonic flowmeter has been developed rapidly.

In early of 21 century, being held up lots of academic conferences and pubilished hundreds of thesis about ultrasonic liquid flow meter or ultrasonic technique meter .

Then, ultrasonic flowmeter plays a more and more important role, especially in the water supply, HVAC application,power supply, petroleum,beverage factory, chemical industry, metallurgy, coal,mine, environmental protection, medical, ocean, river and other measurement test has been widely used.

In recent 10 years, besides single-channel flowmeter, also appears dual-channel ultrasonic flowmeter, multi-channel ultrasonic flowmeter, and the accuracy can be up to 0.5% and a better measurement value . Ultrasonic water flowmeter becomes mature.
